As a certified Cisco Compatible product - CARIN seamlessly integrates with Cisco CallManager, supporting special features like extension mobility and imposes no additional load on CCM since it uses passive recording through a monitor port on a switch capturing the data packets.

The modular CARIN architecture provides flexibility by allowing separation of the system components that can be installed onto various servers and even on desktops for remote recording. The two key CARIN components work in harmony to provide maximum benefit, easy recovery and a high degree of fault tolerance:
  • Calls are captured by the Recording Engine on a Local Recorder (LR), installed together with the Storage Management Service, which provides transcoding and file uploading
  • Media files and call detail information are collected and stored centrally on the Central Controller (CC) that acts as the database server, a web server ans as the single point for administration and archiving.
Recordings can be searched for and played back from any location using the CARIN Web Application.
